Spoons

Gavin ate his yogurt with a spoon all by himself today. I have not given him much opportunity to do this because of the mess it makes, but he really wanted to do it himself today. He was actually doing quite well until he started sticking his hands in. He dropped his spoon on the floor so that is why he has different spoons in each picture. I am trying to decide if he is a righty or lefty.....so far he is favoring his left hand....the verdict is still out.

A Postcard from Grandma and Paw

Gavin received a postcard from Grandma Helen and Paw on his 14 month birthday. He was very excited and carried it all over the house signing dog because it has a dog on the front. We had a difficult time getting a picture of him because he wouldn't stand still with it. He is looking forward to seeing them in 3 weeks!

14 month birthday

We celebrated Gavin's 14 month birthday a day early with the cake that I made in my cake decorating class. Gavin wouldn't eat any, but had fun playing with some icing!

Sick Baby

I took Gavin to the doctor today and found out he has an ear infection, bronchialitis and strep throat. All he wanted to do all day was read books. This afternoon he just climbed in his ball pit and laid down for awhile, which is very rare for Gavin to do (he is insanely active!). Hopefully when the antibiotic kicks in he will be up to playing again.

Potty Time!

We have been able to avoid any potty issues so far on the blog, but let's face it, life with a baby is nothing but potty issues. Since mom and dad are tired of changing diapers we thought we would start putting Gavin on the potty before his bath to get him used to the idea. We are hoping he catch's on quickly, but I have a feeling we have a long way to go. He wouldn't let go of my shirt, even for the picture. Before I put him on there he kept peeking over and looking in the toilet. By the way, he never did go potty, just sat there. : )

New Trick!

Gavin's latest trick is climbing in and out of the toy box. He thinks it is a riot to listen to all of the toys that start making noise when he gets in.

A Visit from Meg

Megan came to visit us while she was on her christmas break. Gavin had a great time showing her all of his latest tricks. He thinks she should move closer so we can see her more often. :)

First Haircut

Gavin did great with his first haircut. Of course, I was holding him in the sling. Not sure how he will do when he outgrows the sling (stay tuned!).

Santa Came!

We learned this year to never have your child wear the jammies to bed that you want them to wear christmas morning.......at least he still looked cute in his jeans and grandpa shirt. He was very excited to see what Santa brought, but was disappointed that he didn't leave any water in the water table....darn Santa.

Snow

We bundled Gavin up and took him out for the first big snow of the year. It only lasted about 2 minutes because as you can see he just cried the whole time. Snowsuits are much too restricting.

The Zebra

The zebra was a gift to Mya for christmas, however, Gavin quickly learned how to climb on and off and clearly thought it was his. The second picture shows Gavin standing in front of Mya yelling for her to get off.

Poppers!

This is as close as Caleb and Gavin have gotten to playing together. They both got poppers for christmas from Grandma and Grandpa Deverman. The popper is still a favorite in our house! (for Gavin, not us!)

The Cake

this is how it ended!

Birthday Boy!

Gavin's first birthday....he didn't like eating the cake, but had fun making a mess with it.

The Great Pumpkin!

This is as close as we got to a costume this year. The only way we got a halfway smile out of the little guy was to let him take the shoe off and hold it. : )

Peek a Boo!

Gavin's favorite game is peek a boo (even if it includes a see through object!)

Goats

We learned after a trip to Tanner's Apple Orchard that Gavin does not care for goats!

Cheerios......

even better if spilled on the floor. Gavin has taught us (well, okay I guess just me) that eating off the floor isn't so bad.
